New Year, New You?
With the new year, typically comes new “resolutions” or goals to achieve in the next 365 days. A “New Year, New You” mindset, for some, is empowering and they start the year off moving and adjusting quickly to meet their goals. For others, though, it can be an overwhelming thought, trying to incorporate new changes through their daily routine to be able to achieve the desired goals or outcomes. Instead of a “near year, new you,” mindset, let’s adjust that to be a “new year, best you” mindset! You don’t have to completely change who you are, but instead, we can help incorporate a few small changes to ensure your body is moving how you’d like it to, in order to maximize your outcomes and abilities!

Little Steps to Big Change
When trying to implement new changes, it is important to take small steps to achieve your goals as to not overwhelm yourself. Find 1-2 things to implement each week to make it easier to adapt to those changes. In terms of wellness, the CDC recommends 150 minutes of physical activity a week plus strength training 2 days a week. This might seem like a lot, but there are many different ways you can incorporate this throughout your week. Thinking of the small steps, work on finding 15 minute increments during your day to get up and walk around to start meeting that goal. Another example is instead of sitting to read a book, grab that book in audio form and listen to it while you walk!

When thinking of the strength training days, you can easily incorporate this with body weight exercises or using items you’d find throughout your home like a milk jug, a water bottle, or even a laundry basket.  Be creative and use items that you have!

Stay In Alignment
To make 2024 your best year yet, it is also appropriate to ensure your body is in alignment. Any little pain or joint dysfunction, not caught early, can exacerbate itself into a larger issue.  Start the year off right with an adjustment to ensure your joints are in optimal alignment to maximize your mobility!

At Schofield Chiropractic, we are here to help you however we can to achieve the well-being goals you might have for 2024. We will work with you, to ensure you can make this new year, your best year yet!
